All driveways should be laid onto a sub base of quality and compacted crushed aggregate to the correct depth and ideally membrane should be used to prevent weed growth when block paving or natural stone is used. Resin driveways are different in that respect because although resin is a permeable surface which allows water to drain through its surface, it is also highly weed resistant.
Once the base has been installed, then the chosen surfacing material can then be laid. In the case of block paving or natural stone, that means ensuring that awkward bits including odd shaped areas or drain covers are skilfully worked on so that when the driveway is complete, they are hardly noticed and blend in rather than detract from the finished driveway.
